JULIAN — November 2, 2026. San Diego County Parks’ current facilities notice says the playground at William Heise County Park near Julian is closed for a full replacement project into November 2026.
What remains available
The park advisory says a nearby restroom remains open using an alternate path. Cabins 1 and 2 can still be reserved, although visitors may hear construction equipment near their campsites.
Check the status rather than assume reopening
The county notice gives November as an anticipated project horizon, not a guaranteed reopening date. A playground should be treated as closed while barriers or official closure notices remain in place.
Where to ask
William Heise County Park is at 4945 Heise Park Road. Call 760-765-0650 for current playground access, trail advisories and campsite questions before arriving.
